Threats Suposedly Found and Quarantined?

I am using Win XP (SP3).

I just used your AVG Remover four times, restarting after each use.  I found that the AVG foulder still existed in "Program Files."  I could not delete this folder.  I then installed AVG.  The download program was "1896."  This is the same number I had in there previously.  Please know that I could not find any specific updates.  I saw your BETA Programs, but did not choose to try that.  I have again inserted the "C:\Program Files\Firetrust\MailWasher*" (i.e., no quotes) in the exception section.  In fact, I did not insert the exception, it was already there when opened.  I assume that AVG Remover did not do its job.  So far I haven't had the Mailwasher problem.  It's been about 10 minutes.
Thx, Stan

Hi Avinash –
I believe I tried what you suggested.  I read the suggested article.  I selected "File paths" and inserted C:\Program Files\Firetrust\MailWasher*  I am still having the problem. Can you please help.  Thx, Stan

Stan,
We are glad to know that the Mail Washer detection issue is now fixed. AVG User Interface will show the "Last scan update" that you perform manually, which means the scan initiated by clicking on "Scan Computer" icon and not Scheduled Scans or other smart scans. However, In the next release, we are planning to update the scan update of all other scans involved in AVG Protection.
Thank you.

I am on a Win XP (SP3).

I just updated to the newest AVG Free.  It now tells me that there are a number of "threats" associated with my Firetrust MailwasherPro program.  Avg advises that it has quarantined these threats.  When I check the Quarantined item in the Menu, nothing is there.  It states, "No Nasty Files Here."  I can't seem to stop the notice of "Threats Found."  At times, the notice appears each 10 seconds or so.

At one point, I uninstalled AVG Free and reinstalled.  This did not help.

Can someone help me?

Thx, Stan Jacobson

Stan,
Thank you for trying it out and I appreciate your patience and efforts. Please let us know which version of Windows are you using and check if there is a program update available for AVG and install it.
