Thunderbird 115.9.0 and AVG

Before proceeding, we would like to know if you have AVG Secure VPN on your device, if so could you please disable the VPN temporarily and check if you are able to access the Thunderbird?
Also, could you please let us know if there is any specific error while trying to access Thunderbird, if so please forward the screenshot of the error for further clarity?

My father is using Thunderbird, the latest version and since I installed the AVG package it stopped working.

Both retrieval and sending is blocked - I also cannot ping the smtp server ; I tried disabling  the firewall which did not help.

thunderbird was listed in the list of allowed processes.

I uninstalled avg and all is well.

Any ideas ?
