I initiated a computer scan. After the scan AVG had found three Troyans and isolated them. But in Thunderbird all messages in the Inbox were empty, only the headers remained. All other folders are untouched.
How to get my messages back?
The inbox of my emal agent is always empty after downloading messages. So has AVG destroyed the content without backup? Colleagues told me I should better use MS Essentials, but that advice comes too late now.

The inbox is empty, it is always empty after Thunderbird has downloaded. But I could restore my thunderbird inbox by going to the vault and restoring the offending Troyans. All messages are ok now.

Please do not worry. Did you try to login to your email account in a web browser and check inbox messages?

We regret for the inconvenience caused. Could you please try to login to your email account in a web browser and check if you can see the content in inbox emails? If you can see, please delete the email account in Thunderbird and reconfigure it. Please check the AVG virus vault once if the Trojans detected was from your email and try to determine which email or attachment it was.
