I’m sorry, but I’m not seeing it.  I’ve got a version of AVG that cost $2.99/mn.  Do I need to upgrade?

Yes, the Video Downloader feature allows you to easily download video and audio content from your favorite sites.

To use this feature, click ⋮ Menu (three dots) in the top-right corner of AVG Secure Browser, and select the Video Downloader icon. Then, select Download next to the video you want to download.

NOTE: Video Downloader may not be compatible with all websites. However, it is supported in youtube, you can easily download the videos from youtube.

Thank you for the information, Greg. 
We'd recommend you to reset & update the AVG Secure Browser and check if it helps.
To reset the AVG Secure Browser, please follow the below steps:

  1. Open AVG Secure Browser and go to ⋮ Menu (three dots) ▸ Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen, and click Advanced.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen again and click Restore settings to their original defaults, then select Reset settings to confirm.
IMPORTANT:This action cannot be undone once you select it.
To ensure the AVG Secure Browser is up to date, Open AVG Secure Browser > Click ⋮ Menu (three dots) in the top-right corner of the AVG Secure Browser window, then select Help and About AVG Secure Browser ▸ About AVG Secure Browser.  If AVG Secure Browser is up to date, you see the message AVG Secure Browser is up to date. 

If the video downloader option is still not available, please save the bookmarks, passwords, etc, and uninstall & reinstall the AVG Secure Browser and check the status.

To export the bookmark, AVG Secure Browser > Click the ⋮ Menu icon in the top-right corner of the screen > Bookmarks > Bookmark manager > Click 3 dots (organize menu) > Export bookmarks.

Does avg browser allow you to save videos?  I used to be able to do it while in YouTube.

i'm still not able to find the Video Downloader.  Do I need to download it or upgrade?

Mostly videos and music on YouTube.  AVG used to have a download tab that appeared on the upper right side of the video window.
