I also think the idea of using X is a good one. If you’re using PayPal you could also try opening a ‘case’ via PayPal and seeing if they can get a response from AVG.

As a general rule I’ve always bought AVG products via resellers. I then get an activation code and that way I never have to give AVG my payment details. I get emails from them regularly asking to spend more with them which I ignore and they periodically switch off the VPN on my devices with a message that I need to subscribe to get full functionality (I’m already subscribed of course). I just log out, log in again and everything comes back with full product functionality and the correct product expiry date.

They’re not easy people to deal with but their competitors are much the same if you read their customer reviews.
