Trojan horse FakeAV.AUQD

Hello Mark,

Yes! This is a false positive. Please be informed that we are performing a major migration from 2016 to 2017 version has a mandatory update and planning to maintain 2017 as a standard version for better protection from threats/ ransomwares. The updates for 2016 version will no longer be available.

I would request you to follow the steps in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to reinstall AVG Internet Security by running AVG Remover and AVG Clear tool.

If you face any difficulties, please contact us.

How does this mandatory migration to the 2017 version affect AVG Business?  I take care of several hundred computers with AVG Business on them.  Fortunately only a very small number of these have had this Notepad detection.

AVG Internet Security (version 16.151.8013) reported on 7/16/2017 that c:\Windows\notepad.exe was a trojan horse named FakeAV.AUQD.

Was this a false positive?

I am using AVG cloud care and have the same issue

Hi Bhuvaneswari,
I just installed my AVG Internet Security from scratch 2 hours ago from AVG, and am seeing the FAKEAV notice.  it removed it once, and now seeing it again, cannot remove it.

Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?
