You're solution does not work and has not worked for a long time now. I don't know if this is Windows or AVG trying to protect everyone from everything that's safe when we know it is safe, but it's very annoying to not be able to manually set networks to trusted/private in either case.
Hello John,
Thank you for reaching AVG Support Community.
We're glad to look into it and help you.
As it is recommended to set the private connections as trusted in the Enhanced Firewall, please change the AVG Secure VPN & other trusted networks as "I trust this network" in the Enhanced Firewall.
For detailed instructions, please refer the below article,
AVG Enhanced Firewall - Getting Started (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&supportType=home&urlName=Use-AVG-Antivirus-Enhanced-Firewall)
Open the AVG Internet Security > Click on the Web & Email tile > Enhanced Firewall options > Network profiles > make sure your network connection and AVG Secure VPN are selected as a private connection "I trust this network".
Please follow the steps mentioned in this article (https://support.avg.com/supportarticleview?l=en&supporttype=home&urlname=avg-antivirus-enhanced-firewall-basic-rules)to configure the system rules and enable all the permission in a private connection.
If you have AVG Secure VPN enabled on your PC, please ensure the below option is enabled.
1) Open the AVG Secure VPN.
2) Click on the Menu > Settings.
3) Turn on the "Enable local device access when using VPN".
Note: AVG AntiVirus monitors all network traffic between your PC and the outside world to protect you from unauthorized communication and intrusions. Enhanced Firewall feature is designed to require minimal input from you. To ensure you are protected, all you need to do is keep Enhanced Firewall enabled with setting up the trusted connections.
Thank you for your understanding.
Accidently untrusted my network. Every time I try to "trust" it on Enhanced Firewall, the check box jumps back to "untrusted". What can I do.
