Thank you.

(I see someone else has posted the same problem in the last 24 hours, so presume there is a bug you have fixed.)
However, I have removed AVG as suggested and re-installed the new one.
No error messages, so I presume all is well.
Whilst I would like to thank you for the free on line support - I would have been completely stuck without it - the new version of AVG which has installed is of course significantly changed from the old one, and I'm not sure I like it nearly as much. It's much less intuitive to use, and even the help screens took a while to master. It seems to have been designed to be harder to change, and you have to make the same changes repeatedly for different types of scan. Removing the scan report history seems to be an odd "improvement," and, despite following the instructions on configuring the scans to generate reports (on about 4 different screens for each scan), as yet I have been unable to find even the C:\ProgramData\ file anywhere on my PC, much less a report itself! However, I suppose we will run with it for a bit to see if we get used to it, but I'm certainly not an early fan.
(I complained in 2015 that AVG would always jam the computer by updating on start up. That doesn't seem to have happened for a while (with the last version of AVG), and there appears to be the option of setting the update schedule times on this version, so I am at least pleased with that!)
Not sure if you wanted feedback, but there you go anyway.
All the best.
Richard.

All day we have been getting the following error message.
"UI failed to load. This is really embarrassing. Your protection is running but UI is having a really bad day."
Have re-started the computer twice without any change.
Does anyone know what this means / whether it matters / whether I need to do anything to fix it?
Many thanks for any suggestions.
Richard.
