Uinstalling AVG on a Mac OS Mojave

I am looking for help on a similar topic. I have High Sierra and free AVG v18.7.  Due to an unrelated issue I caused, I ended up having the O/S reintalled at the Apple Store. This apparently corrupted my existing AVG software. It no longer runs, and cannot be started manually from the Applications folder. I followed the instructions linked in this post to use Terminal to run the uninstall process manually, but that did not work as the path or file was not found. Need help to uninstall my corrupt AVG so I can start a clean install again.

Terry, please download and run the AVG uninstaller attached to the email that was sent to you.

If you face any difficulties, please let us know and we will assist you further.

I have contacted AVG support and they can not help me uninstall AVG on my Mac.
It has suddenly stopped working and I want to re-install.
Can anyone assist me please as AVG are a total waste of time when it comes to Mac?

I followed that link (I was there previously) but did not see a way to engage in an online chat. It loops me back to these very pages.  Help please

Charles, we'd request to start your own post so we can send you instructions to uninstall AVG.

Hello Ranjani,
I cannot open the AVG programme from the icon. I clicked on the icon this morning and nothing happens so I can not attempt suggestion 1.
Last night it opened and was all in red as there was no protection and when I tried to log in with my user name and password it said there was an error.
I verified my name and password with AVG so I knew it was correct but it would still not accept my attempt to log in advising me there was an error with my password.
This morning it is back to not opening at all again.

Suggestion 2. When I try to uninstall from the terminal I get the following message shown in the attached screenshot.

I am trying to attach a screenshotScreenshot

That's unfortunate.

I will escalate your case to our senior team and they will help you with an alternate solution.

  1. I can not open AVG so it will not appear in the top menu bar to follow your first suggestion.
    2) I have tried 5x times to follow your second suggestion through utilities and the terminal and I get a message no such file can be found.
