Unable to disable touchpad after upgrading AVG

Still unable to disable touchpad. Note--  the screen behind control panel, then mouse, shows that the touchpad is disabled. However it is not. Have tried to click enable then go back to disable with no effect.

Hello Richard,
We appreciate your efforts.
Since the issue persists even after disabling AVG, it could not be the issue with your AVG program.
Please contact your system manufacturer for further assistance.
Thank you.

Richard,
Sorry to hear about that. Could you please let us know whether it is after running AVG PC Tuneup or AVG Internet Security the issue has started? Please let us know which version of OS and manufacturer of your laptop to assist you further.

I use a regular mouse in lieu of touchpad on my laptop. After upgrading AVG, touchpad was activated. Am unable to disable it. I have tried virtually every instruction offered on the internet for disabling it.

Richard,
As you say the touchpad shows it is disabled in the settings but it is not, it could be an issue with your Operating system. Please consider contacting Microsoft or your PC manufacturer support to resolve your issue.

Hello Richard,
Thank you for the information. We suggest you to disable AVG temporarily(http://avgclick.me/TempDisableAVG) and then check if you are able to disable touchpad on your laptop.
Thank you

I ran both PC Tuneup and Internet Security. When I noticed the touchpad problem, I was unable to determine if it occurred after Tuneup or Internet Security.  I am running with Windows 7 on a Asus laptop.
