Unable to install AVG free or any Anti virus program

I have been running with out an antivirus program because I get errors whenever I try to install anything. Doing some research and finally using combofix I discovered that my system still has AVG 2001 real time scanner that is active. Can anyone tell me how to remove this?

We are sorry to know that you are unable to install AVG. You can remove the AVG older version from the control panel and once it is removed, then you can install the latest version of AVG on to your computer. I'm not sure what you mean by "this program" but I have solved my problem. The Avg Remover program leaves a lot to be desired. I have been an AVG user for a long time and I will continue to be one, but this struggle has disapponted me. After running AVG remover several times as I have previously stated I found a program called REVO Unistaller. With this program I was able to search my computer for files associated by company name. A search on AVG found four entries in my registry files from AVG 2008, AVG 2010, AVG 2012 and AVG 2015. After deleting all of these registry files I was able to make a complete install of AVG Free. It's disappointing that your AVG Remover program did not find a remove those registry files, my frustration would have been nothing.

Please check if you are able to remove this program from the control panel and also let us know if you are trying to install the free or paid version of AVG?

Thank You for the response. I have been working on this problem the better part of two days. I have run the AVG remover tool several times and the tool combofix still shows that the AVG 2011 real time scanner is still active on my system. When I try to install AVG the install get almost complete but then I end up with a 0xC0070643 error. I also can't install any other antivirus program.
