Hi, I am having the same issue as Clarence. The AVG process hangs whenever I attempt to switch off protection and I am unable to access the file I need despite being in exceptions.

I am unable to temporarily disable AVG. When I try to do so, AVG will stop responding, and it does not show the X icon. I have tried to repair and reinstall AVG(using avgclear and remover, deleting all avg files from appdata,program files,programdata and temp) but it still does not work. The only way that i am able to temporarily disable it is to click into each component and disable. Even through doing that, windows defender still shows that AVG is active, as compared to my other pc, showing that AVG is off. I believe AVG is currently preventing one of my apps from working properly, even after adding the file to exceptions. I have also notice that i have to switch off file shield twice, before it turns off, which could be the cause of this 'bug'.

Please let us know the operating system of your computer & the version of AVG installed on it (Open AVG - Menu - About).
Also, let us know the program which is being blocked by AVG & what happens exactly while accessing it when AVG is enabled.
Additionally, would you be so kind to clarify, if this issue occurs with AVG Free Antivirus. Reason being, we're unable to locate any subscriptions in your account.

Thank you for confirming, Clarence. As this isn't the usual behavior, we may need to esclate this to our next level of support. In order to do so, we need few logs from your computer. We've sent you an email including the steps to collect & upload those logs to our server. Please follow those steps & upload it. Once we receive the logs at our end, the concerned team will analyze it & then reach you via email to proceed further.

Yes, AVG would stop responding and can not be opened until i restart my pc
