My VPN is connected but it prevents me from using it as it stops me from using my internet. It locks me out! I am unable to use both at the same time. How do I correct his?

Deb

Ensure that split tunneling is configured properly if you want some traffic to go through the VPN while other traffic uses your regular internet connection. Most VPN clients offer this feature.

Thank you for writing us back and providing the information.
We understand that you are unable to connect to internet when VPN is enabled.
We request you try the steps below and check.
If AVG Secure VPN is unable to establish a connection, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Ensure the AVG Secure VPN slider is OFF, then check that your internet connection works. If your internet connection isn't working, check your network configuration.
Select a different AVG server location. Open AVG Secure VPN, then click Change location on the main application screen and select a location.
Select a different VPN protocol. Open AVG Secure VPN, and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings ▸ VPN protocols.
Disconnect other VPN services that may be running on your PC. If you are connected to another VPN, it is likely that AVG Secure VPN won't work properly.
Restart your PC and try connecting to AVG Secure VPN again.
Check the configuration of your firewall. Firewall configurations vary according to the vendor/manufacturer. Consult the related documentation for information about running a VPN.
Confirm that your subscription is active. Open AVG Secure VPN, and go to ☰ Menu ▸ My subscriptions. Ensure Active appears next to AVG Secure VPN. For detailed activation instructions, refer to the following article: Activating an AVG Secure VPN subscription.
If AVG Secure VPN is still unable to establish a connection, try to repair AVG Secure VPN and check.
To repair AVG Secure VPN > Right-click the Windows Start button and select Apps and Features from the menu that appears. Click AVG Secure VPN, and select Uninstall twice. If prompted by the User Account Control dialog, click Yes. When the AVG Setup window appears, click Repair.
Thank you and keep us updated.

Verify that your internet connection is working without the VPN.  If the internet is down, the VPN won't work either.

I periodically get a black box whih tells me my internet has been disconnected. Right now, I turned my VPN back on and it disconnected my internet, again! I have to turn off my Secure VPN to gain internet access. I have Windows 10. I have AVG Internet Security and wanted Anti-track but something went wrong with my account and ended up getting VPN secured for an extended period of time. I tried to explain that was not what I asked for. I was paying for Anti-track so I don't know what happened on AVG's end.
