Hi,  I'm having the exact same problem.  I cannot see any trace of AVG AntiVirus (mac) but I cannot re-install it either.  It kept saying: Uninstall of previous Free version AVG AntiVirus'.  Please help.

Let's have a look at it together. Do you receive this error message on your Mac device? If so, refer this https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG-AntiVirus-for-Mac article and follow the steps suggested under alternative method. Make sure that you have deleted the traces of AVG folders manually.
Reinstall AVG Antivirus for Mac: https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-for-Mac and check the status. 
Let us know if you face any difficulties.

I'm getting the following error, but I've already uninstalled the previous version. Has anyone experienced this problem and/or how did you resolve?

"AVG Antivirus is already installed, please uninstall the previous version first."

Ranjani - 

I followed the instruction using terminal and received the following:

The file /Applications/AVGAntivirus.app/Contents/Backend/utils/com.avg.uninstall.app does not exist.

I copied the above from the terminal window.

Is there something else I can try?
