Hi,
I have just subscribed to AVG Ultimate and was linking a Pendo 7 tablet to my network. I was running AVG free on this tablet from when I first got it and had not had any unusual notifications. When doing the link, a scan on the tablet came up with "Unsecure privilege mode detected. Your device is running in High Privilege mode (i.e., it has been rooted).
I went to faq;s and the suggestion was to reset to factory default. I have done the reset and blocked all auto updates and the only new app downloaded was AVG free.
The AVG app has again reported the same risk found but I cannot find any unusual apps in the listing and there is no indication of where this high privileged mode is given.
Is it possible that this is a false positive? I have had no issues with this device before apart from the tsunami of apps and updates from Google which I think I now have under control.
I have a low to medium understanding of tech, so a reply in the most basic terms would be greatly appreciated.
