Update/Reinstall Error 0xe001f946

I followed the steps exactly as listed, including the uninstall of Malwarebytes, deleting the remover folder, and reinstalling AVG.  I received the same 0xe001f946 error code upon the install attempt.  Please advise.

Jacob, For your info & just to keep you totally informed it's actually only the 'paid for' version of Malwarebytes that conflicts with AVG. Have a look @ this AVG article (http://avgclick.me/ConflictingApps).

Hello Jacob,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
We suggest you to remove the Malwarebyte program from your computer and then install AVG Antivirus Free in your computer. Before the installation run the AVG Remover again see if that fix the issue.

Note: Once the removal of AVG is complete, go to C Drive and delete the AVG remover folder. After which you can install AVG. Install AVG Free from this link http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-antivirus-free
Thank you.

I tried updating AVG on my computer, and I received Installation Error 0xe001f946.  I have Windows 10 Home 64-Bit.  I have Malwarebytes in addition to AVG, but no other antivirus software (such as McAffee).  I ran the AVG Removal tool, restarted my computer, tried downloading AVG Free as if it were a new download, and I received the same Installation Error 0xe001f946.
This has actually happened on a couple different computers in the past month or so, all Windows 10, but the others are Windows 10 Pro.  How can I make this work?

Hello Jacob,
This issue seems to be related to #SETUP-916. Please  run check disk scan and make sure there no conflicting apps installed. Check Disk scan will remove any corrupted files from your computer. Please open the command prompt and enter this command "Chkdsk/f/r/x". This will initiate the check disk scan.
Thank you.
