Hello John,
We are sorry to know about the inconvenience caused. Did you try temporarily disabling your AVG program (http://avgclick.me/TempDisableAVG) to check the status? Have you installed any AVG program other than AVG Free? Thank you.
Rajaranjan thank you for the reply.
YES - the problem disappears if AVG is disabled.
Reappears when AVG is Enabled
BUT any WORD file opened when AVG is DISABLED will function normally when AVG is ENABLED; Any Word files opened after Enabling will have Permission error.
Here is the sequence of the testing:
DISABLE AVG 15 mins
Start WORD - open a file from USB
Add text - SAVE = OK
Add text - SAVE = OK, repeat 3 more times - still OK
Start work again and open a file from USB
Add text and SAVE = OK
ENABLE AVG
add text and SAVE = OK, repeat 3 more times =OK
Close WORD
Restart WORD
Open USB file
add text SAVE =OK
Add text SAVE - Permission error and closes down WORD
Regards
AVG free automatically upgrades my AVG 2013 to AVG 2015.
System XP, SP3, MS Office 2007
Immediately after upgrade DOC files saved to USB will generate "Cannot Save File Permission Error" message.
My systems are Ghosted so can examine this problem before and after, AVG 2015 upgrade is the culprit, checking the registry keys between before and after - Keys in the Office section are changed by the 2015 upgrade.
Problem is strange as not all computers are affected, out of 5 machines all running XP /SP3/Off 2007 (also 4 machines are identical models) 2 machines have the issue. Saving a Word DOC will ALWAYS fail with a "permission error message" on the second SAVE attempt to a USB stick.
Have looked at several other posts raising this issue but have not seen a solution…?
