Using a public Wi-Fi

Until recently I have had no problems using public wi-fi in libraries and coffee shops. Since renewing my AVG it seems like multiple log in pages load so fast I do not have time to click to load these. If I can get to 'load anyway' the pages load and the mad opening of pages stops. I have no problem with my home wi-fi.
Any suggestions would be welcome!
