Hi John,
We're glad to clarify this for you.
If you're able to use remote desktop connection within the same network when connected through Secure VPN, then it should allow you to connect in a different network as well.
Reason being, Secure VPN will mask the IP address of the computer & make it to pose in a different region.
Sometimes, there are possibilities for the device in same network to consider that there was an attempt made from outside, using VPN.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
Hi .I already have AVG VPN, I switch it off when I use MRD I also allow access for the accessing computer IPN address in the file shield.
I am wanting to access the computer when I am not on the same network or with VPN on.
On the host computer when I switch on VPN does it give it a random IP address, if so can I always have the same IP address as I imagine the computer trying to access the host computer needs that address every time it try's to log in.
Thank you.

Hi I use Microsoft Remote Desktop to access my Windows computer from my Mac.
It works fine as I am on the same network.
Can I use AVG VPN to access it outside my own network.
Thanks

Hi Dinesh
Sorry I didn't make it clear.
When I use MRD I do not use VPN as MRD just reports an error.
When I look to see how to MRD with computers on different networks it's suggest one option is using VPN.
Would I be able to use AVG VPN , if so could you advise how please.
This would I hope also mean that I could leave it on when accessing on my home network.?
Thank you.
