Utorrent and AVG

I have AVG Internet Security installed on my computer and have recently reinstalled uTorrent Pro version 3.5.4

In attempting to down load my first torrent, the torrent sits there with a status of "Finding peers 0.0%.  The torrent has active peers.

I have sort a resolution to this issue via Google and many of them suggest that the issue may lie with AVG Firewall but for the life of me I cannot find where I can unblock an application these days.  How do I do it?

Hello Pete,

We will work together to sort this issue.

Please disable AVG temporarily on your computer and check if you are able to download the torrent file.

If the issue persists, the problem should be with the torrent file you are downloading.

Please try a different torrent file with more active peers.

To disable AVG temporarily, please right click on the AVG icon present at the bottom right corner of your desktop(System Tray) and you can see a scroll bar to "Disable Protection".

I diabled AVG and the torrent worked just fine so it seems that there is something within AVG blocking uTorrent

Please follow the below steps and change the firewall settings on your computer and check if that fix the issue.

Open AVG Internet Security installed on your computer, click on Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->click on "Network Profile(Left side of the interface) and change the profile to "Private" if selected in "Public". Once this is done, select "Policies->System Rules", enable all the settings that are not configured.
