Hi, I've AVG AntiVirus Free on a 64-bit Windows 8.1 machine with all updates done. I've not bought nor tried the full AVG program yet. Since the past 1-2 weeks I've noticed unusual changes with the AntiVirus:

1) If I open the program from the shortcut ("C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Framework\Common\avguix.exe" /avg.open_ui) the window announces:

Last computer scan: a few seconds ago
Virus definition: a few seconds ago

Those texts haven't changed for a week. At last week end I disconnecting the net cable for a day and it still continued telling me that the virus definition was only seconds old. But from the program's Menu > About page I can see with better detail the latest update. As writing this at night 3 am the update is from the previous day and at least 3 hours ago.

Also in the past AVG AntiVirus Free didn't have an automatic computer scanning but it required a manual start. So that announcement of the last computer scan really might not be true either.

2) If I try to run a brand new versions of 3rd party programs the CyberCapture stops the process. That is fine and has happened before - but the outlook of this feature has changed radically:

The CyberCapture screen text lines do not break correctly and the text continues beyond the screen. There are button texts such as: "Close", "More details", "Fewer details" but they are plain text and simply do nothing. The whole window looks rather unfinished.

I took two screenshots in here:

My question really is: What's wrong? Are you aware of these changes? Is my computer safe?

My current versions: AVG AntiVirus Free software version: 17.6.3029 (Sept 18, 2017), virus definitions 170918-4.

Simo, Also have a look @ this AVG article (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot).
