Virus definitions won't update

Hi Alan,

This isn't the usual behavior of AVG program. Let us work towards fixing the issue.
I request you to repair the AVG using the steps mentioned in this article :

Restart the PC and check if the Virus Definition is updated.

Running AVG AntiVirus Free, version 20.7.3140 (build 20.7.5568.595). Notification area contains an alert stating "Virus definitions are outdated". Clicking on "Update now" brings me to update screen, which also states "Virus definitions are not up to date" and "Release date was September 12, 2020 2:20 PM (ver. 200905-0)". Clicking on "Check for updates" has no effect. No error message. Update screen simply continues to state "Virus definitions are not up to date". Tried rebooting, but no improvement. Virus definitions were last updated on 2020-09-05 (7 days ago). How do I fix this?
