Good evening,

Thanks for responding. I am unable to uninstall the AVG programme because, as advised previously, when I try to do so I keep getting the message "setup is already running. Please try to start the setup later" and it is not possible to complete the task. Could I please ask again what I need to do?

We are sorry for the difficulties you underwent. It looks like due to some temporary glitch you had issues in replying to us.
Let us re-install the AVG program and verify the status. To uninstall, please run AVG Clear and Remover as mentioned in this article. Please visit our official website (https://www.avg.com/en-us/installation-files) to install the program again.

Please see below copy of messages I have sent responding to an email but have received an automated response advising that it has not been received,
 

Please accept my aplogies for the delay in responding.

I have carried out what you have suggested but have not been able to complete the process because I keep getting a message which states "setup is already running. Please try to start the setup later". I would also like to advise that the only options which appear are to either uninstall or change the application, not repair.

Could I please ask what I need to do in order to be able to progress this?

Hello Nigel,

We will help you in fixing the issue.
Let's repair your AVG program and check if that fixes the issue. To repair AVG programs go to Control Panel.
- On the Start menu enter Control Panel in the search box and select Control Panel from the results.
- Select Programs > Programs and Features, and then select AVG AntiVirus/AVG Internet Security.
- Select  'Uninstall' and you will be getting an option to repair.
Please keep us updated on the progress.

We see that our colleague has suggested you to use the remover tools to uninstall the AVG program.
Please let us know if you receive the message "Setup already running' while running either of the tools or while attempting to uninstall AVG from control panel.
