Hello Margaret,
We can work together and sort this out.
For "virus defintions out of date", follow below mnetioned steps, restart your PC and then update the program:
1. Press Windows and R keys simultaneously to open "RUN" command.
2. In Run window, type as "ncpa.cpl" without quotes and press Enter key.
3. In Network connections window, right-click the connection you use, and select Properties.
4. Double-click the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item on the Networking tab.
5. Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. If there are any DNS server IP addresses listed there, write them down for future reference, and remove them from this window. Click OK.
6) Select "Use the following DNS server addresses".
Enter below mentioned numbers:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4.
7) Click on Apply and Ok.
For "web shield update" issue, repair AVG Internet Security as mentioned (here) and check the status.
Thanks.
I have three licences for different laptops used by our teams.
One on I have a message saying the virus definitions are out of date but when I click update nothing happens and it says error start up is running. I have logged out and back in again but still the same response.
On one of the others it says I need to update the webshield but again on clicking on the update button nothing happens.
Help!
