Hello Barry,
Thank you for taking time to write us here.
To narrow down the issue, we request you to disable AVG temporarily as mentioned here and check the status.
If the issue persists, please try downloading the executable files in alternate browsers and check if that helps.
If you are able to download the files after turning OFF AVG, share the screenshot of the error message that you receive while installing the files.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
Since installing AVG Internet Security seem unable to download any .exe that will help upgrade my computer.
Thinking of upgrading my hard drive for a SSD drive because I am feed-up waiting ages to boot / shutdown on Windows 10.
Trying to load Cruical UK Scanner or Acronis True Image - both go through the process of downloading but then after a while show "Failed - Virus scan failed" message.
I have added Acronis web address to Exceptions list AND tried turning off both Computer and Web options whilst I download to no affect.
Have checked MS Virus setting - that states AVG in charge.
Help please !!!

Hi
i am using Chrome browser.
Have since uninstalled AVG Internet Security and still get issue.
Have followed throuhh with Windows - regedit change key. This made no difference.
After uninstalling Avg Internet Security the VPN and another AVG are still showing on App list but inable to uninstall due to no AVG folder.
Went to reinstall Avg Internet Security - have key but yet to see how i do it as system but downloading .exe gives virus check failure. Which proves it was working on 15th Nov when initially bought. Mind you that was a licence extension. Have now been playing around for 2hrs this morning and now hospital appoint .
i have decided not to upgrade pc to SSD drive. So all i need is to reinstall AVG Internet security somehow
