Thank you for the information.
There is an option in "Deep Scan" to exclude a file.
Open AVG Internet Security interface, click on gear icon of "Scan Computer".
Click on "Gear icon" of deep scan and select "Exceptions".
You can add the Zip files to the exception and perform the deep scan.
Keep us informed about the status.
Hello, Brian.
May I know if it is a quick scan (started by clicking on 'Scan computer' on main interface) or Deep scan that you are running? On the scan interface, the file that is currently being scanned will be displayed. Please notice if it was stuck on same file. Usually, a virus scan consumes a fair amount of PC resources. Make sure there is no conflicting application is installed and other resource demanding tasks are not running.
It's a daily scheduled scan. The files being scanned zip by so quickly it is almost impossible to tell what is being scanned. It took 10 minutes to reach a 12% complete status. If it is set for a deep scan, where would I remove that option? The interface is not very intuitive.
I have a 1.34 Tb drive, Intel i&-2600 3.4GHz processor, 8 Gb RAM, 64 bit Windows 10. Drive is 59% full. AVG Virus Scans are taking in excess of an hour. Anyone have any idea what's up?
