Virus updates not working

I have paid for AVG Premium. I should be able to get help via 'chat' - but it goes into an endless 'Loading' cycle and then tells me to try again.

I have the same problem as a number of other people.

I get messages saying that the virus definitions are out of date.

I try to update the definitions and get an 'unknown error' message.

The ordinary screen keeps telling me as soon as I switch on that a full scan was done 'a couple of minutes ago' and the virus updates 'a couple of seconds ago' but this is not possible. To scan the memory takes more than a split second and I'm still getting messages that the virus definitions are out of date.

Since I have paid for the 'Premium' service, I should be able to contact by phone  - but I get a message saying the number is not connected.

Failing that, I should be able to fix it via chat… that's not working, either.

AVG is losing all the good will it has earned over the past years… Not good…
