HI, I downloaded a free Avg trial to test it on my windows 7. After running an initial scan, AVG quarantined 5 important work folders in virus vault. I was able to see them in virus vault but unable to restore or see in my windows explorer, Hence I did an uninstall on AVG it gave me an option to keep the virus vault files, I did not deleted them. After I reinstalled AVG, now the virus vault doesn't show those folders anymore, it just says empty, I scanned the whole computer again still no progress. I know the folders are not deleted as the drive space is still the same as earlier. The files in those folders are related to my work and are very important. Is there a way to manually locate those folders and restore them? As it doesn't even show in safe mode and also all files and folder options are not hidden. any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Parivesh
I'm having this same exact issue. Apparently MANY people have since 2010!!! And there is NO answer to this! Recovering a quarantined file should NOT take a Senior Technical Support Team.
You are most welcome.

Hello Ryan,
We can certainly take a look into this. May I know if you're unable to restore the detected files from quarantine? If possible, please share a screenshot of the AVG quarantine page to proceed further.
You can post the screenshot here on your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Alok.
