I am facing same problem! I cannot see Microphone Icon in search window in my AVB browser on my laptop. I followed all the steps mentioned above but in vain. However, I can sucessfully eneble voice search in Google Chrome.

If the microphone is enabled and you're still unable to dictate, check to see if AVG Secure browser Voice typing is available to you in a Google Doc by selecting Tools > Voice typing: If Voice typing is greyed out,then the option is unavailable.
For some reason the voice typing feature in Google Docs doesnt work using the AVG Secure Browser.
I've tried Google Chrome and it works fine on that but when I switch to AVG Secure Browser it doesnt do anything.
Any ideas how I can fix this as would like to stick to AVG Secure Browser.

I am currently using the free version of AVG Anti Virus, however I was thinking of switching back to Google Chrome and add the AVG Internet Security extension to GC if this problem persists.

There are no error messages when I attempt to use the voice typing feature, everything appears and behaves normal apart from the lack of function i.e. there is no text typed as I speak.
Works fine on Google Chrome, no difference in the two apart from it not functioning on AVG Browser.
