Hello Ray. Thank you for taking the time to communicate your concern with AVG. My name is Shawn and I am writing to you on behalf of the AVG Senior Support team.
I tried to replicate the disruption you experienced, as I too am located outside of the United States, and I didn't experience any disruption accessing CBS.com when using AVG Secure VPN to stream free content. Albeit I am not signed in or have an established CBS.com account for streaming premium content.
I also tried replicating your disruption with the VPN disabled and only received a generic error notification, "This video isn't available in your region." It didn't specifically reference my geographic location.
Are you signed into CBS when trying to stream content? To stream premium content requires an established CBS.com account, which is associated to a method of payment, which I suspect is how they are determining your specific geographic location. Please let me know.
I look forward to your clarifying response. Regards, Shawn
Hi Ray,
We're glad to clarify this for you.
Certain streaming services has taken counter measures to block its users from accessing its content through Secure VPN servers.
While we do continue to add new servers and ip addresses, they are quite fast to identify the same.
However, you can try connecting to streaming servers (locations) that are available in AVG Secure VPN to check if it helps.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
The AntiTrack and VPN failing to conceal my location, CBS website for example still could track my location. I removed cookies history, restarted my computer… no difference

But doesn't that defeat the purpose of one of the main features of VPN? If CBS can know my geolocation in Australia, while using VPN with virtual IP in New York, makes you wonder what else do they know. It will safe to assume that websites, and hackers, more sophisticated than CBS can go further by identifying my actual IP.

We understand your concern, Ray.
Certain websites allows you to access them, depending upon the gelocation. They'll be able to identify where you're actually based & if it meets the requirements, you'll be able to access those sites.
