VPN Linux Desktop

Hi Brent.
Thank you for reaching us here.
We can take this as your valuable feedback and forward it to our developers but I'm afraid we cannot guarantee AVG apps' compatibility with Linux OS.

Regarding the internet speed, you may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because a VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.

I have the VPN installed on a Windows 10 o/s. Looking to see if AVG is going to be offering a setup that allows you to run their OpenVPN on a Linux Desktop o/s, Linux Mint in my case. With Valve Software's Steam service with Proton (Vulcan API), there are almost no games intended for Windows that can't be run on Linux these days. I do all my daily stuff on a Linux desktop, and I really only use a Microsoft o/s anymore for the one or two games that I can't get to run on Linux, due to an EoL of the games. I really can't justify keeping AVG's VPN if they don't offer it for a Linux Desktop o/s. The HUGE latency increase and throughput decrease is also a problem. I loose 2/3 of my speed with the AVG VPN on. That's a best case scenario, switching and testing different locations. But I can deal with it for now IF and only IF AVG has plans to future proof their products by supporting Linux. It's already OpenVPN and Android is a Linux environment. Mac o/s, PC and Handheld, are a FreeBSD(Unix) environment. So the work is 90% done.

Any plans to support a Linux o/s by AVG in the near future?
