VPN not working on AVG Secure Browser

Also may I confirm whether you are referring to the VPN that is present on the top of the left corner in AVG Secure Browser?

Why does my new VPN free trial (linked as a subscription renewal offer with my Internet Security), not work with my AVG Secure Browser?  Indeed, whenever I try to run the VPN it opens a screen that says "Initialising please wait".  Unfortunately it never initialises, I could wait forever. Help please!
