VPN says "maybe later" won't connect

My AVG VPN has been going along working fine. Suddenly, after an “update” on my AVG virus protection, it doesn’t work. It will come up and say “sorry, can’t connect maybe later” or "you are not connected to the internet. It also causes me internet connection to change from “connected” to “limited connection.” I’ve deleted the program and reinstalled it but it doesnt help. I would appreciate any suggestions. I’m using Windows 8.1 on the system having problems, and windows 7 on another system that has no issues.

Same here. I’ve tried the help line but the virtual assistant was no help and just ended the conversation. Why do these “updates” cause so much hassle?

I found some very old suggestions for this problem on the net, but the menus for 8.1 then and the menus now that AVG references have changed so much that it’s impossible to apply their suggestions. I have checked everything I can think of and no luck. I think the problem is inherent in the last AVG update. Updates from AVG are always problematic and rarely go smoothly. I use Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines and this applies to all of them.

I was paying through paypal and decided I wanted to pay directly from my credit card but can’t find a way to do that. I’ve canceled all payments through paypal and need help installing a new payment source.

Same here. Still doesn’t work now as we move towards the end of June. Progress on an open case number from April is impossible to get. Premium support is frankly useless. First line chat support tried their best and escalated the problem - which seems to be a common problem although they denied it was - eventually promising a response in 48 hours. 20 days later still no progress. This, along with other performance problems caused by AVG software, probably means we cannot continue to use their products for our business. We have been a long term AVG customer and advocate but sadly I can no longer recommend them.
