VPN sort of works, but no Private - why?

When I test VPN, it shows my ISP. Should it not hide this too?

  1. Installed and rebooted with VPN to start on windoze load.
  2. Cjose Milan Italy as my location (which it is not)
  3. Went to speedtest.net to check speed difference.
  4. Speedtest.net showed my ip to be from Milan, but showed my correct location (where my comp is).
Isn't VPN supposed to hide ones GPS location too?

John, this can happen due to the browser settings.

Web browsers in which you access these web pages frequently will store your Geo location.

Please check if this happens in all the browsers.

Try from a different web browser in which you have not accessed these web pages frequently.

@ Balasubramanian Thanks but  the link does not go anywhere near the qustion I asked.

In detail:

  1. Boot with VPN ON.
  2. My TRUE location is Toronto, Canada
  3. Choose Milam Italy as location in VPN.
  4. Go to Amazon.Com, Amazon says "=Your location is Canada" Transfering you to amazon.CA (Dot CA is NOT California!  Before anyone says). Or,
  5. Go to ebay.com, and ebay redirects to Ebay Canada.
  6. Go to facebook.com and it has a hissy-fit and won't le me log in until I verify via email that is me. They are stiull in the dark ages and don't realzie people can fly from country to country in a few hours!
  7. Twitter feaks out too, like Facebook.
  8. Go to whatismyip.com and it shows a Milan IP address.
  9. Go to iplocation.net and it shows Milan IP address.
But, without cookies and assumed most Stalkers and trackers, cookies, picxel stalakers, gig trackers, CV's and such all removed, how private is it when some sites can pick out my home - Toronto when some see Milan?
