Vprot.exe system error

Hello, Lizbeth.
I would request you to delete the "AVG Web TuneUp" folders from the C:\ drive–> Program Files and Program Files x86 folders. If you are unable to delete AVG Web TuneUp folder, please boot your PC to safe mode http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-reboot-your-computer-into-Safe-Mode and then try to remove the folders.

My laptop shows on screen a vprot.exe system error. I've already download the avg remover tool and have running in it. it's been more than two hours of "Removal in progres" and nothing else happen. Is thi the right way? Am I doing something wrong? What can I do to remove this error successfully?
