I have this issue now and I've followed the suggestions but nothing is working. Please can AVG help?
I am having this same issue. My phone warned of a porential threat and when i pressed "resolve issue" it only brings me back to the scan button again. i have tried restarting and then it now says 1 threat and 2 risks. I have also tried clearing storage and cache and a force stop once. The only thing i can get it to do is rescan. What can i do to really resolve this?

This issue might be with Android system files conflict. We recommend you to reset AVG Antivirus app once and check for the situation. This will reset the configuration of the app to defaults. To do so, navigate to the location mentioned below.
Device Menu -> Settings -> Apps/Application Management -> AVG Antivirus -> Tap on clear cache and clear data -> Force stop the app once.
Restart the device once

Grahame, this is a followup regarding the virus definitions out of date on AVG for Android. Our developers are aware of this and confirmed an update will be released soon with a fix. Meanwhile, I ensure your device is protected and request you to keep the auto-update of apps is enabled in Google play store. Click on this link https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/113412?hl=en for instructions to enable it if you have not already.
Once the fix is rolled out, you will get a notification and the AVG app will be updated automatically. After updating AVG app, restart your device and check for the status.
