Hi Kelly,
If even renaming AVG processes doesn't help, it is probably caused by something else. Try uninstall all unused/unknown software and update all drivers.
Thanks
After installing a very large music sofware program, I have been having trouble starting up windows. It includes a security system to insure I am the sole user. I am worried i should have disabled AVG during the install, so I restored windows to a few days before the problem showed up. No luck…same problem.
From the restore point, I have uninstalled AVG using the AVGRemover as well as a normal uninstall. It 'seems' to be fine as I can hear the usual startup sounds associated with a proper boot to the login screen, but a black screen with white text, referring to watchdog processes, continues to cover up what I think is sucessful boot of windows 7.
I have found a memtest brings windows back to normal, so I may have something else going on. (suspecting video drivers at the moment…safemode 'hangs' on AtiPcie.sys)
My question…I'm finding AVGRemover will not complete it's task. It restarts my system, and upon restart…it wants to run again. then it restarts computer and requests to run again. I haven't let it go through this process more than four or five times. Am I not giving it enough opportunities to complete it's task?
I have also run AVG Rescue Disc via flash drive. I have renamed the avg and watchdog drivers to .bak files.
No immediate help there.
