Hi Tim,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Please share us the screenshot of the window that you receive after choosing the timeframe to disable Web Shield for better clarity.
Also, would you be so kind to specify the reason to disable Web shield?
I sometimes need to turn off Web Shield. This works ok in my Win 10 PC, but not in my Win 7 PC.
This is what happens:
In Win 7 I click the Web Shield slider to 'off'.
In the 'Do you really want to…' dialog box I select one of the 'Stop…for how long' options
The comes the confirmation dialog box 'Are you sure you really want to…' BUT there are no buttons visible to click anywhere on my 3-screen set-up. Therefore I can't disable Web Shield.
Any ideas? Is there a way of doing this via the command line?
TIA
Tim
Hi Dinesh,
It is actually the Fake Website Shield that I need to disable, but the problem and the steps are the same as for Web Shield. The reason is that the Fake Website Shield forces the use of an Avast DNS server, which leads to a DNS leak, This matters particularly when using a VPN (in this case Nord VPN).
I attach a screenshot of the confirmation dialog box with no buttons visible. You will notice that the screenshot shows that all 3 screens become 'greyed-out' except for the AVG dialog box.
I look forward to your advice - thanks in advance.
Tim
