Just a little background…
I downloaded some software and firmware (beta test) files that are required for a two way radio project. AVG immediately thought there was a virus in each file, but requested access to the files for further testing (in the AVG lab?). After about 10 or 15 minutes a report came back saying they are OK to use.
Now these files (release version) are reportedly triggering virus warnings amongst many users worldwide with a variety of different anti-virus software products. So my thought is that the website where these are available for download is being blacklisted (automatically?) on some master list that perhaps AVG and other anti-virus products reference.
The issue today is that AVG is blocking access to parts of this website and I need to download some updated (non-beta) files. So my question is how do I bypass the AVG block or get the website (I am not the site owner and I have notified the owner) off the blacklist? I need to download these new files and I would let AVG scan them after download and before execution. Problem is I cannot even download them.
When the report (pop up notification) came back originally saying the beta files are ok to use I simply accepted it, but now I would like to recall that notification to review it again. Is it possible to recall that report / notification?
Thanks for any information in advance,
Jim
Hello James,
We will help you with the necessary information.
Disable the AVG from the system tray and try to access the website, then download the files.
Can you send us the screenshot of the popup?
