What data is being uploaded to AVG?

Dear Sarath

Thank you so much for taking your time, and to help me answer my questions. I sincerely appreciate good people like you.

Will they answer 1), 2) and 3)?
And also my questions regarding file-shield?

You are welcome, Emil.
Yes, AVG TuneUp scans for all the cache files that are created by the system, programs, or installers (such as temporary, log, and cached files, including browser data).
To know more about it, refer this FAQ.
Regarding AVG File shield component, it will scan the files available on your PC and compare it with the updates database that are downloaded and installed within your computer.
In case, if any of your files as malicious content or code, AVG will be able to block it and show as threat found on that particular file.
We assure you that the files aren't uploaded anywhere during this process.
If the user click on option as "submit the file for analysis", then it will be uploaded to our server from where our developers analyze and check whether it is safe or not.
Hope this clarifies your query!

Dear AVG

Sorry for bringing this thread back to life

Regarding the function AVG TuneUp:

When AVG TuneUp scans my system, cleans up etc. Is any of my data then being uploaded to AVG?

Thank for answering

Best regards

Emil

Was trying AVG free out.  So I like to program, compiled my program to test a feature and avg free scaned it.  Then uploaded this personal file to its servers.  If true then this program which is crappy test code and totally not available to legally distribute.  Is complete copyrighted, is now on avg's servers.

Dear Sarath

Thank you, for taking time to answer my questions.

3) "his is achieved by removing the unwanted cache files" - It scans for ALL cache files?

I don't think, you answered this:

Regarding the feature ”file-shield”, which scans every file hat is being openend. So AVG scans every file, document, picture, that is being openend on my PC? And then what happens? AVG compares it to a database online or the database in my installed AVG?
Is any of my data being uploaded in this process? This you answer "During this process, AVG will not collect any of your personal files. "

Thanks again! :)

Dear community

I have been a satisfied and happy user, for more than 10 years.

Some concerns has recently come to my attention.

I have some personal artwork i have made and also digital pictures of my child, and these images and pictures have great sentimental value to me. I do not like the thought, that these pictures being uploaded to some place i do not control.

Is there any of the follwing scenarios, where these pictures / files will be uploaded to AVG?:

1)

When AVG gather my personal data, browser hiostory etc. and resells it. I do not have any problems with that by the way.

2)

When AVG deep scans my system for virus, malware, spyware and other threats.

3)

When AVG scans my whole system and finds X amount of giga bytes, that is used and do not have any function / files that just takes up space.

4)

Other scenarios?

Thank you so much for answering

Best regards

Emil

Hello Santhosh

Thanks you for taking time to answer me. What is your position by the way, AVG technical supporter?
1) AVG won't send any of my files to the AVG team / AVG company, is that what you mean? None upload traffic of my files at all?
2) And none of these you mention here, could be my pictures etc.?
3) The list AVG showed:
List of broken items in the registry (not total sure of this translation, I hope you know what i mean)
Programs that slows the PC

Unecessary files
Are these features only available in the Tune up version?

And what about here, the answer is the same as to (1)?
