Why has AVG taken away my google toolbar?

I spend all my time researching my family tree online! I got AVG yesterday and today I was not allowed to go to google and insisted I do what AVG wanted and accept their yahoo toolbar. Now I can't seem to get to my google toolbar. Can anyone help me understand WHY? Or how I can use both?
