Why has gmail not been able to load in firefox since avg hightlihted two (non)malicious files?

@Visnu Varda I do not have any screen shots of the threat detection. The quarantine does not have the files and the refresh did not work. I have done a few refreshes and reinstalls to try and get gmail working. Still stuck on the gmail loading page. The situation has me stumped

Balasubramanian, I got it gmail working. Thanks for the advice. I turned off all my antivirus protection and turned avg on, on its own. Comodo and avg dont seem to agree on gmail. I appreciate all the help from everyone cheers

Hi Stephen,

We will certainly check this for you.

Do you have the screenshots for the threat detection pop up from AVG to check from our end?

Have you moved those files to quarantine? If so please try to restore those files and check if you could load Gmail with the help of Firefox.

If you don't find the files in quarantine then try to reset your Firefox browser and check if you can access Gmail.

Stephen, the issue shouldn't have happened due to AVG.
Try disabling AVG Antivirus/ Internet Security and check the status.
Open AVG Antivirus/Internet Security program interface and click on "Menu–>Settings–>Troubleshooting–>Passive Mode".
Slide the cursor to turn off the protection.
When the threat detection appeared, does it say that it found the file in Firefox or Google path?

Avg highlighted that 2 files were malicous. I deleted the two files and firefox stopped working. I changed some setting in the about:config in firefox and the browser started to work. I am signed into gmail but the browser cannot get past the loading page. I have refreshed and reloaded firefox but to no avail. All other google services work. Gmail works in internet explorer. Mozilla stated that it sounds like a avg problem.

I am happy to hear that your issue is resolved.

I appreciate your time and co-operation.
