Wifi doesn't have a valid IP Configuration

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried the suggestions on the link and no luck getting my connection restored. When I tried to release and renew the ipconfig I got the following message at the command prompt. "No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection* 13 while it has its media disconnected." Then digging into that connection more I saw it said "media state…:media disconnected." The rest of the commands seemed to go through just fine, but none solved the connection issue. I tried to match the IPv4 address, Subnet Mask and Default gateway to my work laptop on the same connection but no luck. I also tried a few other recommended addresses to no avail.

Hello,
I downloaded the free AVG software yesterday and then lost the ability to connect to the internet. I have uninstalled the software, used the clean AVG, the AVG Remover and followed the directions in other posts here. I still have no internet connection on my HP laptop, running windows 10. Other ipads, phones and Lenovo laptop are accessing the internet fine using the same wifi connection. Called Tech Support but they don't support the free AVG version. If anyone has ideas I'm all ears!

Hi, would you be able to help me with the same issue, please? I have the ip conflict issue as well. It happened in the past as well and you were able to fix it. I have also received a recorded message about the ip conflict and if not resolved I will loose the internet connection in 24 hours, though this voice message might be a scam.

Hello Bryan,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused.
If you are connecting the PC through Wifi then please try connecting internet through LAN cable once.
If the issue persists, please try to follow the instructions as mentioned in this website: http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-Your-Internet-Connection and let us know the status.
If you have the AVG program on C:\drive–>Program Files folder please delete the folders related only to AVG and restart the PC once to check the status.

This happened to me as well, I wont recommend AVG to anyone now.
It literally blew up my ip configuration for LAN and WIFI.

Same problem here, I was using Avast Premium Security (paid version). I've tried all the above suggested solution but nothing happened.

After that, I uninstalled Avast Premium Security (paid version) and installed Kaspersky Security Cloud (free version) and everything started working fine.

As I was just downloading Avast and opened it, my computer lost WiFi connection and started giving that same error as referenced above. Despite every tutorial listed above and others, none of them worked. Someone suggested it may be a virus. I was able to update my windows with the 1803 update. When I did so, I got connectivity back. Google loaded, there were no errors on my troubleshooting. So the first thing I did was open Avast/AVG to run a virus scan. INSTANTLY, my internet failed and I am now getting that error again. There is something in this software that is messing up my laptop. Despite uninstalling it, the problem remains. But the connection between Avast/AVG is definitely there.

I tried everything I was told. The only thing that worked was a complete PC reset and windows reinstall. I will not be putting any AVG/Avast products back on my computer.

Greetings,

We're sorry to know that.
We may need to ensure that the AVG/Avast programs, Windows are up to date, in order to confirm that there are no possibilities for the conflicts.
As you've already managed to fix the issue, you can write back to us if you experiencing the same issue with Avast/AVG in future.
Thank you for reaching us. Have a great day!
