Will not let me pay

I thought I would extend my subscriptions and added them in the store, but when I add in payment detail and press pay I get payment authoration failed. There isn't any reason for that I have a healthy bank account, it doesn't say why it failed. I have been able to manually extend the subscription like this before and if this is something new to stop this from happening then I really want to know. thanks.
