Hi. I recently purchased a desktop CNC machine. When I tried to load the bundled software, AVG reported :-
"We moved 1610 CNC Machine.exe to your quarantine because it was infected with Win32:Malware_gen"
I contacted the manufacturers & advised them of this. Their advice was to switch off my antivirus as the software was "ok". That I find difficult to do - I trust AVG & if it tells me there is something wrong, I tend to believe it. However I see there are a number of reports on false positives so I wondered how I(or anyone else) could identify a false positive from a genuine nasty?
If you need any more information, can you contact me on my e-mail address, please?
Thanks
Andy

However, if they are trusted, it can be added to exceptions and sample can be sent for analysis.
