I have not received any responses from any readers other than Alan. No followup after that from readers or AVG customer support.
After many years of using AVG I am done with it. When I try to do a restart on the computer it said I have a program running (AVG???) and has to force restart. Am wondering it the "programming running" is the reason my screen saver will not kick in.
I am removing AVG and replacing it with another antivirus service after sending this.

Thank you for asking. No, I did not. Your the first to have answered me.
Maybe others are leary to believe this is happeniing. I have to admit- is a very odd relationship of a antivirus program affecting somehing like a screen saver (I have mine go to a blank (black) screen after 10 minutes when it normally works).
I was hoping one of the virus definition updates would quietly resolve it but so far nothing has changed.

Hello- since installing the latest AVG free program (as requested by AVG pop up) last week, my screen saver will not kick in. My settings have not changed. I uninstalled AVG yesterday and the screen saver now works as before. Reinstalled AVG free and the screen saver is back to not functioning.
Has anyone else experienced this and could you offer any suggestions?
