Hi Ranjani,
I'm using AVG Software version 19.5.3093 (build 19.5.4444.497) and the latest version of Windows, 1903 (build 18362.116)
There is no error message. Windows sandbox just either connects or it does not. Shutting off the enhanced firewall allows the sandbox to work (which operates similiarly to a remote desktop connection by the looks of it) but enabling it immediately blocks it. I've isolated it via the logs to SVhost.exe being blocked but despite trying to add it to every exceptions list imaginable, it will not allow internet traffic.
Please let me know what you find out!
Thanks,
Jordan
We appreciate your efforts, Jordan. However, we're sorry to know that modifying the firewall settings didn't help. Let us try modifying another setting. In order to do so, we need to get the settings page of older version which can be done by : Opening AVG - Menu - Settings - General - Troubleshooting - Scroll down to find 'Open old settings'.
Once the old settings are opened : Component (left pane) - Click on Customize beside Enhanced Firewall - Policies - Enable 'Internet connection sharing mode' by checking it - Ok.
Please try the above step & let us know if it helps.
Hello Jordan,
We will look into it. Provide us the error message you receive while trying to connect to Internet using Sandbox.
Let us know the version of AVG you have installed and your Windows OS version.
I can't seem to allow the Windows Sandbox feature to connect to the internet.
If I disable AVG protection temporarily, Sandbox can connect fine.
Naturally, I go to add it to the exception list…except that didn't do anything. Then I disabled enhanced firewall for 10 minutes. Works fine. Go and add all microsoft applications to the "allow connection" settings. Still no luck.
Am I overlooking something? How the heck am I supposed to use the sandbox if I can't even go to the questionable website using it?
Hi Ranjani,
Thanks for the reply. I've set everything as you specified and it still doesn't allow the Sandbox through the firewall. I've attached a screenshot as requested.
Hi Jordan,
Thank you for the info.
Have you allowed connections from the application rules?
Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> Full Protection -> Enhanced Firewall -> make sure all the network profiles are set to Private and then click on system rules -> enable all the rules.
If everything is already set properly, share the screenshot of it to check and assist you further.
We're glad to hear that your issue has been resolved.
If you need anything else, do not hesitate to let us know.
