Hi Robert,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. We suggest you to disable the AVG components and check the Windows updates.
Use the following instructions to disable AVG components : Open AVG Zen -> Click on Anti-Virus Free -> Click on "Menu" -> Settings -> Disable all components (Resident Shield, Software Analyzer, Email Protection, Online Shield & Firewall (Disable Until restart))

i was just gifted a new version of AVG and now windows update fails. I go to suspend the fire wall and find that AVG has taken it over and i now have NO control of my computer. will you PLEASE fix your product so windows update will worh
