AVG Secure VPN is blocked in China and AVG Internet Security should work. Do you get any error while accessing AVG website in China?

With iPhone connected through a USB cable as personal hotspot, I sent the output about 24 hours ago. It read that I would receive a receipt notice email in a few minutes, but I did not receive any email from AVG.

Without iPhone as personal hotspot, while I could visit web sites with browser, AVG sysinfo failed to send output, and automatically saved the output to a zip file. I emailed the zip file and the screen shot showing failure to send output.

Is it wise to install and use AVG Internet Security in China?

In the recent few days, I had a lot of trouble in installing AVG Internet Security on a PC with Windows 10 in China.

I found that a cause was the Internet connection. AVG is blocked in China.

Since my PC has trouble communicating with AVG, I am wondering whether AVG Internet Security software will provide good protection.

I am currently writing and posting this message with ExpressVPN.

I did not take screen shots. You can have an AVG technician in China try installing the software on a fresh Windows 10.

I will explain what happened.
 
 
[Installation with avg_internet_security_setup]
 
I had a fresh Windows 10. I ran Windows Updates. I ran avg_internet_security_setup.

Instead of a message such as 'Restart the computer to finish installation,' the message was like 'There was an error. Restarting may help.' I do not remember the exact phrasing.
 
After restarting PC, I could not see AVG installed. I ran avg_internet_security_setup again. The same strange error/restart message appeared. I restarted PC. I did not see AVG installed.
 
I refreshed Windows 10 keeping nothing. I ran Windows Updates.
 
I ran avg_internet_security_setup. The strange error/restart message appeared again. I repeated restarting and re-running avg_internet_security_setup multiple times.
 
Finally, I saw AVG installed. However, I could not sign in with my email and password for the AVG product. I could access web sites such as bing or baidu.
 
I refreshed Windows 10.
 


[Intallation  with AVG_Protection_806]

On the refreshed Windows 10, I ran Windows Updates.  I ran AVG_Protection_806.

Soon, there was a message that I needed internet connection, even though I could access sites such as bing and baidu.

I tried installation with ExpressVPN on. The installation went on without the message that I needed internet connection. Later, however, the installation percentage indicator displayed a number greater than 100. It was something like 112%. Windows Task Manager indicated no CPU activity. After one hour, there was no activity. I could access web sites wtih browsers.

I am refreshing Windows 10 again.



[My concern]
 
My attempt with AVG_Protection_806 indicates that AVG software download site is blocked in China. So I am wondering whether AVG Internet Security will update itself as needed to provide good protection.
