Words disappeared in dialog windows' browser after AVG update

Hello Paolo,

I am sorry to hear that. This could have happened due to failed update from AVG, please run AVG repair(avgclick.me/RepairAVG) from your computer control panel and check if that fix the issue. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.

Hi
Yesterday I updated AVG free on my two Windows7 PC at Home.
On both of them, after update, in browser's window dialog (Example: "Save image as" dialog window) all words are disappeared, only icon remain.

I tried a lot of things but only Windows Configuration Restore works, but now I can't update AVG and I can only unistall it and change antivirus software.

Why it happens? Any way to solve?

Hi,
I have exactly the same trouble of Paolo on my Windows 7. Temporarily I solved only by Windows Configuration Restore Utility that brought me to previous AVG Antivirus Free 17.5.3022 version. This latter works fine. Than, to avoid unistalling AVG program and change antivirus software, by AVG GUI settings, I only disabled the automatic update of the program (not that of the virus definitions) to avoid to fall again into trouble in a few hours (cause automatic update).
For now I'm waiting for the AVG team to fix the issue with a proper update and make me available, within my computer and language skills, to provide useful data to identify the problem.
Good work AVG Team!

Carlo

Thank you for the information. In this case, I suggest you to completely remove and reinstall AVG from your computer control panel and check if that fix the issue. You can install the latest version of AVG AntiVirus free from this link: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free. If you face any difficulties after installing latest version, please let me know, so we can check the same and assist you further.

I tried, but still that issue.
That problem is the sam with Chrome, Firefox and Opera.

Until now, only way to "solve" is windows configuration restore before AVG update and then unistall it.

But I liked AVG so hope for a solution…
